On this date in 1835, Charles Darwin arrived in the Galapagos Islands to discover the origins of humanity.
But unbeknownst to him, his old college roommate, God, had spent all 6000 years of earth's existence planting evidence meant to deceive Darwin into deducing that man evolved from monkeys.
Historians believe that only a jokester as omniscient as God could have fooled Darwin into believing that man evolved over time, when logic dictated that there was absolutely no way man could have originated from anything other than mud and God breath.
At the time, it was widely considered to be God's best practical joke since he convinced Abraham to carry out a mock execution on his only son, Isaac.
After Darwin's death, God let him in on the joke, and they both had a really good laugh.
