Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) woke up on this date in 2009 horrified to learn that it was a presidential address to a joint session of congress that he had attended the night before, and not a taping of the Jerry Springer show, as he had been led to believe.
After loudly and famously calling the President of the United States a liar, Wilson was also observed exposing his man teats to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi while shouting "Have a good look, Bitch. Cause you aint never gonna touch these babies again."
Though the event caused quite a stir, many political scientists believed the incident was blown far out of proportion, noting that Wilson's behavior might have been completely appropriate. Had this been next Wednesday, the date Wilson and Republican whip Eric Cantor were scheduled to attend the taping of a Jerry Springer episode entitled "Help! I'm secretly in love with a Nazi socialist muslim foreign-born President of the United States, and I don't know how to tell the gay hooker I picked up in my megachurch's parking lot!"
